All of us at Attic Salt had our own experiences as teens being taken in by theater companies in our home towns. Those opportunities helped shape us and fostered our love of theater. Offering the same gift - a home in the theater - to this generation of teens has always been incredibly important to us.
​One of the most rewarding things we get to do is host our Teen Board.
Working with Attic Salt has given me the amazing opportunity to feel much more comfortable in all avenues of theater. I've had access to wonderful classes on aspects of acting that often aren't publicized or taught, one-of-a-kind opportunities, and focused workshops with a fun and welcoming group of people!

What is Teen Board?

The Teen Board is a mentoring program for teens. This group of theater-loving teens meets monthly for arts classes of their choosing. Everything from Audition Technique to Voice Over to Understanding Shakespeare is up for grabs. This is a student-driven group - we work on what they are interested in learning.

How Much Does it Cost?

There is an annual fee of $150 and each member must complete fifteen volunteer hours per year.

Volunteer Hours?! What Kinds of Things Would I Have to Do?

There are lots of volunteer opportunities available - everything from helping out at classes and other events, to ushering shows, working on tech crews, or even helping us clean and organize the studio. 

Are There Any Other Benefits?

Tons! We want Attic Salt to be a place you can come for help, guidance or just when you need a quiet place to work. Teen Board members have access to the directors of Attic Salt for help with whatever projects you're working on. Need some monologue coaching? You can call and schedule some private coaching time. Have a play you're working on writing? We'll help you work out those rough spots.

You will also get to enjoy and learn from the other wonderfully fun, articulate and talented members of the group! Meeting are always full of laughter, friendship and support.

How Can I Join?

Our application cycle for 2022 is open! We are accepting applications through December 15th. New members will be notified by December 31st. So fill out an application and you will be contacted to set up an interview (zoom or in-person).
​Shakespeare is pretty tough. Just a couple hours with Attic Salt was eye opening for me and made even that make sense. Cold reads, voice overs, and much more are just a few of the things that Attic Salt have made me more comfortable with!
