Cast and Crew:
Christy Montesdeoca (Lorelei) is an actor around WNC, previously been seen in such productions as Boom, Dinner With Friends, and Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike, at Attic Salt, as well as Sweeney Todd and Avenue Q at ACT. Fluent in Spanish, she is also a Certified Healthcare Interpreter in WNC, often found working in clinics, doctor's offices, schools and more. Her most important role is Mama/Transportation to her kiddos! Happy to be back on stage, she can also be seen in this summer's upcoming production of Black Comedy at Parkway Playhouse in Burnsville.
Jered Jackson Shults (Benny) is excited to perform at Attic Salt for the first time in his theater career. He is originally from Tennessee but has been acting for 10 years now in Western North Carolina. Jered also fight choreographs in the area. He has worked with multiple theater companies in the area over his time and is very excited to add Attic Salt to this list.
Nichole Sumpter (Stage Manager) is excited for the opportunity to work with this wonderful cast and crew. Some of her favorites credits include: All Shook Up, Facility for Living, Children of Eden, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, The Diary of Anne Frank, Newsies, and Say, Goodnight Gracie.
Jeff Catanese (Director) is a writer, director, actor and teacher who lives in Asheville. He is the Artistic Director of Attic Salt Theatre Company and co-author of three drama education books for Scholastic, Inc. Recently, Jeff has directed The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) for Mars Hill University, boom for Attic Salt Theatre Company, and ACT's Elf. Next, Jeff will be directing Black Comedy at Parkway Playhouse.
Jerry Slaff (Playwright) was born in Brooklyn before it was a brand. His play Lies was a semifinalist for the 2019 O’Neill Theater Center’s National Playwrights Conference, and was produced at the Lab Theater Project in Tampa, Fla., in 2020. It was also awarded the grand prize in the 2019 Writer's Digest Writing Competition, over 7,000 entries in nine genres. It most recently had a reading in New York at the AMT Theater.
His play Grand Union was a finalist for the 2020 Austin Film Festival’s playwriting competition.
His first play, Peanuts and Cracker Jack, was produced at the Cleveland Playhouse, with follow up productions at the Arkansas Repertory Theater and Mint Theater in New York.
Other plays include Who’s Yehoodi? (2023 O’Neill semifinalist), Casa Neurotica (New York Theater Festival, off-off-Broadway), Heaven (Sandy Spring Theater Festival), Lost Souls (Baltimore Playwrights Festival), Stanislavski's Methods (Interrobang Theater Company, Baltimore), Petey’s Parade (Baltimore Playwrights Festival), and Personal Histories (Theater on the Lake, Md.).
He is a member of the Dramatists Guild and is represented by the Susan F. Schulman Literary Agency in New York. He lives in Rockville, Md. jerryslaff.com
