Kate McGunagle (Vanda)
Kate is thrilled to be making their Attic Salt debut (and their dad proud) with Venus in Fur. Past credits include A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Helena), The Merry Wives of Windsor (Mistress Page), She Kills Monsters (Kaliope), and The Glass Menagerie (Amanda). All her love to her people in the audience tonight.
Alex McDonald Villarreal (Thomas)
Alex hails from Texas, but has been on WNC stages for over a decade. He's been seen recently in his one-man show, ETHNICALLY AMBIGUOUS, which will return to Asheville in August 2026. He received a BFA in Acting from Texas State University, where he studied abroad with The Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon, UK.

McKinney Gough (Costumer)
McKinney does costumes primarily at Attic Salt and Parkway Playhouse. She spends her daytime hours as a general contractor for Turnwright Construction, where she specializes in complex renovation and preservation work. Thank you for supporting live theater!!!

Jeff Catanese (Director)
Jeff is a writer, director, actor, and teacher who lives in Asheville. He is the Artistic Director of Attic Salt Theatre Company and co-author of three drama education books for Scholastic, Inc. Recently, Jeff has directed Noises Off at Southern Appalachian Repertory Theater, Doubt at Mars Hill University, and Miss Julie here at Attic Salt Theatre Company.
David Ives (Playwright)
Ives is an American playwright, screenwriter, and novelist. He is perhaps best known for his comic one-act plays. In 1997, The New York Times called him the "maestro of the short form". Ives has also written dramatic plays, narrative stories, and screenplays, has adapted French 17th and 18th-century classical comedies, and adapted 33 musicals for New York City's Encores! series.
