Attic Salt Theatre Company Pursuing Excellence Onstage and Off
Cry it Out, by Molly Smith Metzler September 9-25, 2022 Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:30pm Attic Salt Theatre Arts Space 2002 Riverside Drive Asheville, NC Directed by Betsy Puckett Starring Ariel Casale, Mash Hes, Carin Metzger, Mikhale Sherrill
Acclaimed writer Molly Smith Metzler (Shameless, Orange is the New Black, etc.) holds both a microscope and a megaphone to the joys and perils that today’s mothers face. This hilarious and heart-warming comedy takes a sharp and honest look at the power of female friendship, the dilemma of going back to work after being home with a newborn, and the effect that economic and social class has on parenthood in America.
Attic Salt has a great year planned, and we hope you'll join us for all of it! Check out some of the shows and events we have in 2022:
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, by Rodney Smith December 9-24: Thursdays-Saturdays @ 7:30pm Saturday Matinees @ 2:30 Sunday Special Matinee (2:30pm) on the 18th No 7:30pm show on the 24th Acclaimed local playwright and director Rodney Smith has offered to take the usually holiday fare and turn it on its head by adapting this campy and (unintentionally) funny film from the 1960s for our stage. I'd explain the plot, but there's not much to it outside the title! Whether you're a fan of the movie or just looking for an alternative to Christmas schmaltz, you're going to laugh and cheer at the bumbling Kinmar, Voldar, Dropo and the sexy Mrs., Candi Clause. And isn't that what the holidays are all about.
Please note Attic Salt's current Covid policy, in effect until further notice: For the continued safety of our patrons in the face of Covid-19 and it's variants, Attic Salt Theater Company has made the difficult decision to only allow those who have proof of vaccination or a very recent negative Covid test into shows it is producing at its studio space. We believe that doing so will help curb the number of cases and keep those who have taken steps to prevent further spread of the virus safe. If you have already bought tickets and can not or will not present proof of vaccination at the door on the night of the performance, please let us know and we will happily refund the cost of your tickets.
Despite updated Buncombe County mandates, masks are still required for audience inside the studio for the duration of events.
Thank you for your continued patronage and PLEASE stay safe.
