In-School Artist Residencies

Attic Salt Theatre Company offers ten to twenty-week residencies that combine theater education with standard education curriculum for students in third to eighth grade.  All programs can be tailored to best suit your school's needs.

Programs Offered

Folktales and Playwriting

Using plays and theater games, this program teaches students about four different kinds of folktales and then has the students write and perform their own folktale plays.

Songwriting

This program begins with lessons about poetry and rhyming, then has students working in small groups to write the lyrics and melody of their own songs.  The program closes with the performance of the student-written songs.

 Some Currently Participating Schools

St. Joseph's School (New York City, NY) third and fourth graders participate in twenty-week programs for both playwriting and songwriting during the school day.

Incarnation School (New York City, NY) use the playwriting program as part of their after school offerings for sixth, seventh and eighth graders.

St. Athanatius School (Bronx, NY) students in the third through eighth grade participate as part of an after school program.

Our Lady of Angels School (Bronx, NY) third grade students participate in ten-week playwriting programs.
